She is best known for her roles in Spamalot's West End revival, the Regent's Park revival of Into the Woods and as The Wizard of Oz (as the Wicked Witch of the West). In recognition of her work, she has been nominated three time for the Olivier Award. In 2015, she was a part of the Game of Thrones fifth season in the role of Septa Unella. She also played a primary role in the 2012 film adaptation of Les Miserables. Waddingham was nominated for the Golden Globe Award.
